For the first time, the public has heard from the family of two victims in the fatal drag racing crash in Kerrville where three people died and several were injured.
Shawn Brown and another lawyer Andrew Toscano both are representing the two related families who are mourning the death of 8-year-old Santiago Martinez and his aunt 46-year-old Rebecca Sedillo. Both families are considering a lawsuit over their deaths.
Both Mr. Brown and Mr. Toscano have sent out notices of representation to multiple parties that include the City of Kerrville and Mr. Dunagan, the event organizer from Flyin’ Diesel.
Martinez was reportedly strolling to the concession stand on the actual second the Ford Mustang lost control and reportedly veered off the track into the crowd.
Martinez’s brother spoke on the alter with emotion, detailing his final phone call with his little brother. “I wish I could have talked to him longer,” he stated. “He was amazing and smart.” When requested if he has a message for the general public, he thanked the neighborhood for assist following the service in Santiago’s honor.
Mr.Brown talked about Martinez saying, “incredible kid, he was well-liked by everybody at his school,” he added on saying there were over 200 people in attendance who came to the funeral for the 8-year-old child including many who came from across the country. Brown also said, “He had conversations with the teachers about history issues and so forth and they created a new award for him recently 2 weeks ago called the historical award, he was given this and was the first honorary recipient of this award.”
