Born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, Nikki Schmerber is a proud South Texas native. She received her undergraduate education from Texas State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. After graduation, Nikki worked at the Bexar County Courthouse, which sparked her interest in the criminal justice system and led her to attending St. Mary’s University School of Law, where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2022.
During her time in law school, Nikki was a Student Attorney with the prestigious St. Mary’s Criminal Justice Clinic, as well as a recipient of the Pro Bono Service Award for completing over 100 hours of pro bono legal service. She also received the Juvenile Justice Award for her commitment to assisting the San Antonio youth caught in the criminal justice system. Upon graduating, Nikki worked as a Prosecutor at the Medina County District Attorney’s Office, where she gained valuable trial and courtroom experience.
Nikki is truly passionate about seeking justice and defending the accused and is dedicated to helping her clients overcome one of the most challenging times of their lives. She promises to fight for her clients and support them from beginning to end. Nikki is bilingual in English and Spanish and is a member of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Women’s Bar Association, and the Hispanic Law Alumni Association. She was also voted as a 2023 Best San Antonio Lawyer as well as an Outstanding Woman in Law by Scene in S.A. magazine.
